The California Democratic Party earlier today announced that Brown’s Pembroke Welsh corgi, Sutter, who has an impressive following on social media and in real life, would be making 30 campaign stops to greet Democratic campaign volunteers statewide starting Tuesday. Some days include as many as three stops at the party’s various field offices.

Volunteers working the phones at the offices will also get a trading card with Sutter’s picture.

But while Democrats referred to the dog as their “cutest and cuddliest secret weapon” in the press release announcing the visits — yes, the Democrats issued a press release about a campaigning dog — it seems like Sutter might not play well with other pooches.

In the aforementioned press release, volunteers are asked, “to kindly leave their canine companions at home if they plan on coming into a California Democratic Party campaign office to volunteer for this event as many offices are not set up to accommodate multiple dogs.”

As for Brown, he made appearances at two churches in San Francisco and Oakland over the weekend, along with a separate news conference, and he has the busy day Tuesday. He held rallies at UCLA and a Sacramento community college last week.

Whether he makes as many public appearances as his dog remains to be seen.
