Thank You Petco! See you Saturday to bring HOPE!

Today I was invited to one of the biggest anuual black tie caviar events in San Diego- The 2013 Petco Foundation Annual HOPE Gala.

Every year the Petco Foundation hosts this prestigious event to help benefit homeless animals in need. Being that the event is $300 a person while I would love to attend I couldn’t afford such an engagement, so I was beyond thrilled when they reached out to me on behalf of my dog blog Barking Beast San Diego.  At the risk of showing my cheesy side and quoting Austin Powers it must be said:  “GROOOOOVY BABY!” I even got to add a plus one, so I’m bringing one of my biggest Barking Beast supporters from day one, my sister from another mother Devin… and a close friend of Jack’s : )

In any event you can imagine how excited I am about this weekends Gala. All of San Diego’s biggest industry players in the pet community will be at this event, including yours truly. Besides deciding what to wear I can’t stop thinking about all the established animals activists and philanthropists that I will be lucky enough to shake hands and hopefully network with at the Hope Gala.

This year, the Petco Foundation HOPE Award, which celebrates the spirit of hope through a life dedicated to promoting the pet human bond, will be presented to Ms.Lily Tomlin whom I watch on one of my favorite shows today, Nashville. ( yes I have an inner country girl in me haha ) Lily Tomlin is one of America’s foremost comediennes and a lifelong advocate for animals so I can’t wait to meet her.

Proceeds from this year’s Gala will benefit Actors and Others for Animals and Performing Animal Welfare Society. Both organizations are near to Lily’s heart, and are committed to caring for animals in need and enhancing the human-animal bond.

Each year, the Petco Foundation gala recognizes one or more people or groups who share the foundation’s mission to improve the quality of life for animals and the people who love and need them.

The event is this Saturday May 18t and expected to go from 5-11 pm at the Hilton San Diego Bay Front 1 Park Blvd  San Diego, CA 92101. If you would like to attend click here > Petco Foundation Annual Gala to purchase a ticket.

I am beyond honored to have been recognized for my achievement with this dog blog Barking Beast San Diego . The success of my blog is owed to my large and ever growing incredibly supportive fan base who’m I hope to continue to inspire, entertain, and inform with every post I publish. Thank you Petco!
