With Dogs Days of Summer coming to an end in San Diego , don’t fret pooches, because because your # 1 Dog City USA has prepared to bring on a list of exciting events ready for Dog Day of Fall! Our friends at San Diego Union-Tribune and DiscoverSD have put together the a list of exciting dog friendly events you and your pup do not want to miss!

Yappy Chihuahua Hour at Mission Brewery – Wednesday, Sept. 19

For all you animal lovers craft beer drinkers be sure to head down to Mission Brewery to support local dogs in need while sipping on the latest new flavor of beer at the Mission Brewery.  The evening will include local craft brew, food truck eats and dog-friendly vendors sponsored by Furry Foster and the Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego . Bring your own pup, or meet foster and adoptable pets on-site. $1 from each beer you purchase will benefit homeless pets in San Diego. 5-8 p.m., free to attend.

Pugtoberfest at Sunset Cliffs – Saturday, Sept. 29

Fall Oktoberfest season is officially underway. Get your German drink on while supporting the adorable pugs in our city. The Pug Rescue of San Diego County is hosting this year’s event at a new location on Sunset Cliffs Blvd. in Ocean Beach. Expect plenty of food and drinks, dog-friendly treats and shopping, pug socializing, and even a psychic reader. Oh, and German dog costumes are highly encouraged! Pre-sale tickets are $22. 2-5 p.m.

The Grand Woofstock in Escondido – Saturday, Sept. 29

Bring your tie-dye dog up to North County for Grand Woofstock — a pet festival presented by Escondido Events. This Woodstock-inspired hippie fest will feature live music (think Jimi Hendrix covers), food, dog-friendly vendors, K9 demos, on-site pet adoptions, light-hearted competitions and a pet parade. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Escondido Humane Society. 10 a.m. – 4.p.m., free to attend.

Howl-i-Palooza at Howlistic – Sunday, Sept. 30

Howlistic, the natural pet supply store for dogs and cats in San Diego, is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a big Howl-i-Palooza event at the Mission Hills location. The dog-friendly outdoor festival will showcase rescue dogs available for adoption, demonstrations from local holistic practitioners, natural treats and refreshments (for two and four legged guests) and more entertainment. 10 a.m.-1 p.m., free to attend.

Hawaiian Paradise Friendraiser at Bali Hai – Saturday, Oct. 6

Fire K9 presents the Hawaiian Paradise Friendraiser, an exotic benefit supporting the certified K9 Accelerant Detection Teams, also known as Arson Dogs. The evening will feature a Polynesian dinner buffet, dessert, wine, entertainment, K9 bingo and auctions. Items up for auction include rare wines, jewelry and even a week vacation in Kona, Hawaii. Pre-sale tickets are $85. 6-10 p.m.

Bow Wow Brunch Cruise on Hornblower – Sunday, Oct. 21

Hornblower’s doggie cruise is back by popular demand for the fourth year on San Diego Bay. The Bow Wow Brunch Cruise is a two-hour open water cruise around the bay, with a fall brunch buffet, free-flowing champagne, doggie buffet, cold water bowls and dog costume contests. There will be a designated dog relief area on the sun deck. The goal of the event is to raise awareness for orphaned pets at the Helen Woodward Animal Center. 12-2 p.m., $69 for adults, free for dogs.
