For the first year ever, Barking Beast San Diego will be attending the city’s largest and most exciting pet event of the year, the San Diego Pet Expo! 

The Del Mar Fairgrounds will host the animal loving event for the 4th time, beginning Saturday, October 13 at 10am and running through Sunday, October 14. This family friendly event features products and services for pets and their owners, including pet foods, toys, leashes and collars, pet sitters, trainers, treats, bedding and much more.

Also featured at the event will be dozens of local shelters and rescues with pets for adoption – come find a new member for your family with hundreds of new friends to choose from! Dogs, cats, bunnies and birds are all available for adoption at the event, and there are literally hundreds to choose from, both days of the event. Bring your dog to meet their future sibling – make sure they can be friends before you take home the new family member. For the first time the event is inviting dogs to attend with their owners, with proof of vaccinations (a rabies tag works).

If your dog is the competitive type, enter him in one of the competitions – most beautiful, largest, smallest, best pet tricks, best singer/howler, best dressed or even looks most like his owner. And each winner will walk away with $50! Woof woof!

To round out the day, enjoy watching the Free Flight Bird Show, starring exotic and amazing birds. See 6 foot tall African Cranes, a Condor, trained Parrots and much more – all flying free and amazing you! And don’t miss The Purina Incredible Dog Team featuring dogs flying though the air catching Frisbees and doing incredible balancing tricks. The Purina Incredible Dog Team features dogs that were adopted from shelters and now perform gymnastic feats that truly amaze.

Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors 65+, $4 for kids 6-16, and under 6 is free. Plan to spend the day enjoying the great exhibits, fun entertainment and great fair food! It is a great way to spend the day for the whole family!
