Who’s walking who? Dog Training Products: Who knows what you will find

who's walking who

The road to being better parents to our dogs starts with showing Fido who’s boss/ who’s the master/ who’s your Daddy? ( in my case “Mommy” but you get the point). In my experience it is helpful to look into training products- particularly a pinch collar for my two year old, 100 pound, alpha male, Shepard lab mix. I never really got too into these types of products, mainly because they look uncomfortable and kind of scary. I was all too familiar with the phrase, “who’s walking who?” and it made me think maybe these products could be useful.

I can no longer handle looking like I’m being dragged through my neighborhood by my own dog. For the most part Jack is very cooperative and successfully follows the pace of my mood when we walk. It’s usually the early first walk of the day where Jack has trouble. He’s always lunging forward looking like a determined body builder in a strength training program pulling a car- and I’m the car.  Do not EVEN get me started if a cat, squirrel – or God forbid – the smell of bacon crosses his path..

I have been researching dozens of collars online and fell in love with a website that makes some very visually pleasing dog training products at some incredibly affordable prices. The Dog Training Equipment branch has all kind of stylish collars, leashes, and very attractive muzzles in stock. I just ordered the Herm Sprenger Dog collar for Jack. This “pinch collar” comes in very fancy smoke gold links that make up the chain around his neck. I think Jack is going to look very “GQ” in this collar. The purpose of the pinch color is to restrain the dog from pulling the owner during walks. The collar fits around the dog’s neck and is made of a series of fang-shaped metal links, or prongs, with blunted points. When the dog pulls, the prongs pinch the loose skin of your dog’s neck. This training product has been proven to significantly reduce dog pulling and has been socially acceptable in the pet community for some time now. I can’t wait until Jack’s collar arrives. Goodbye morning dog walk embarrassment!

Here are some websites I’ve pulled from the online branch I encourage you all to look into when searching for dog training products.
