Hey, hey, hey! DO I got some BIG news! It gives me tremendous gratitude to announce I have recently been appointed to help facilitate adoptions as an official member of the Helen Woodward Animal Center Foster Program in Rancho Sante Fe, California.

I am incredibly excited about this opportunity because I understand the integral part foster adoptions play in animal welfare rescue. While shelters are poring in with cats and dogs of poor health coming straight off the streets and from neglected owners, many times there is not enough kennel space to house all the animals. It is because of the work and organization of Foster Programs that shelters CAN make more room for rescue pets, being all the more reason I take a lot of pride in my new position. As a foster parent or program member you are essentially helping pets groom themselves for potential adoptions so your role in the process is deeply meaningful and important.

As a San Diego native, I have always felt Helen Woodward Animal Centers presence deeply in the community. I’ve admired their work in animal welfare and rescue as long as I can remember, and have been inspired by their passion to help all animals wether domestic, farm, or even exotic. I strongly believe in their philosophy that “Humans help animals, and animals help humans”. While I have yet to meet HWAC President and CEO Mike Arms, I’ve been been an avid follower of his work and rescue efforts in the Southern California Community for many years. The Helen Woodward Surf Dog A-Thon, Puppy LOVE 5k, the Spring Fling Gala, and the Remember Me Thursday (now a global event) are just a few of the Helen Woodward original affairs that make this rescue group ONE of a KIND. I am honored to work alongside such an incredibly compassionate and established group of professionals who are all working toward the same goal- helping animals live happy and healthy lives in forever loving homes.

As a Helen Woodward team member I intend to use the public relation skills I’ve acquired over the years as a pet lifestyle figure to facilitate interactions between volunteers and staff to further strengthen foster program goals. The wealth of followers I have gained in the pet community a result of BarkingBeast.com will definitely be incorporated into my efforts in recruiting foster parents. It is for these reasons I truly believe I will bring original and unique value to the Helen Woodward Animal Center team. Years from now I plan to be a senior level executive for a pet lifestyle brand and or animal welfare foundation and this will certainly be a big stepping stone towards that! Stay tuned because I look forward to sharing how the new opportunity unfolds! WOOF!
